Founder Updates: Life After China + What’s Next

It’s been a while since I’ve done a founder update. I believe that my last “open letter” was from back in February 2015. (Side note: Looking back on that letter, I feel much older than the almost 3 years that have passed in the mean time; I feel a decade older, at least!)

Last year (2016) was an awesome year of growth, prolific writing, beauty tips, the launch of SHINE and Farm to Face–yeah, it was a good year. In comparison, 2017 has felt a bit like.. well, crickets.

It’s not been all crickets: SHINE sales have really multiplied and grown in 2017 – many of you can’t live without it now! – and Farm to Face has grown, with the re-introduction of REWIND and CALM, and the introduction of our newest, family-fave product: the Persimmon anti-aging night creme.

On the blog front, I’ve been a little less vocal this year than last: It’s surprisingly tough to run a company and keep a healthy flow of beauty-related content going. But I did that last year, right? There’s definitely more going on.

A few of you have reached out to politely inquire: What’s up, Megan? Why have you been so quiet recently?

Here’s my best attempt to update everyone:

This year has brought a lot of exciting and welcome change to my personal life. I’m engaged (yay!) and currently waiting on my fiancé’s visa to finish processing so that we can move this party from Asia on over to Indiana – hopefully permanently. I don’t have any wedding plans yet, but feel free to share your Pinterest boards with me! ?

Until then, I’ll be fiancé-less in Indiana, remodeling my newly purchased home with my parents and building a permanent lab – which will be shared between Amalie and my cosmetics consulting company.

In case you’re scratching your head, let me catch you up: Over the past 3 years (most of which was spent in China), many entrepreneurs heard my story and reached out personally for help with manufacturing. That work became some of the most rewarding work I’ve ever done, as I watched others turn their ideas into reality. That feeling – that spark of starting something totally new and bringing it to life – that magic, is something I decided I would like to experience over and over again.

So I will!

That’s basically it for now. I’d like to say I can announce what’s next at Amalie, but I’m not quite ready to reveal it just yet. Lots of things are in flux, so there may be more announcements in the near future. ?

Thanks again for all of your continued support; I feel truly blessed during this holiday season, like I have every holiday season for the past 4 years! I appreciate all the emails, support, mentorship – all of it. It’s been wonderful.

Hopefully there will be more blogging in the near future (send me your beauty questions!)  and seriously – I’m open to all the wedding Pinterest boards. Add me.

xoxo,

Megan
