Football Game Beauty Tips

If your lucky enough to actually witness a live football game this Fall or Winter your probably struggling to keep your skin healthy and well – look cute! Here are some tips that work for me and my friends.

  • Keep your skin Hydrated. It’s time to pull out the thicker, oil based creams and/or sunscreens.  It’s also the perfect time to integrate facial oils into your beauty regime (if you haven’t done so already). As we age or face stress our skin stops producing the healthy facial oils that keep your skin plump, nourished and glowing. By using beauty oils – especially organic beauty pile – you can replace those missing facial oils that keep your skin looking healthy and younger. I personally use SHINE Organic Brightening Facial Oil every morning. It evens the skin tone, nourishes skin and adds a glow to my face. Oh, by the way, it smells amazing so it makes me happy each and every morning when I put it on.
  • Protect your face, eyes, neck & hands. Sunscreen is critical, even on a grey day you’re getting sun. Be sure to place it on your face, neck and hands. Not only will it help to protect you from sun damage but will protect and nourish your skin from the elements. Sunglasses are important as well. • Cover up but stay cute. I know, your worried your going to look like a giant snowman. The truth is there are some really stylish and functional options for your face, neck and hands. Hands – Mittens are the warmest, gloves and fingerless gloves also work based on weather and your need for dexterity. The material is the most important decision- leather, down, synthetic, cotton, other… REI does a good job of highlighting the differences in Gloves & Mittens. Neck options – scarf, hoods and infinity scarfs. My favorite is the infinity scarf because you can pull it up or down to protect your neck, ears and head. It is very versatile and stylish. • Don’t overdo make up, unless you’re going for that totally goth or beauty queen look. Remember that you’re makeup looks different in outdoor sun. Keep in mind that if your in cooler and possible windy weather conditions your skin will change anyway. Your cheeks and face are likely to become red so when it comes to outdoor makeup less is more.  Some things your should stay away from include:
  1. Avoid False Eyelashes. In the stark sunlight you’ll see every line of glue and you’ll look unnatural and made up.
  2. Stay away from dark liner in daylight. It can age you and will just look out of place.
  3. Daytime lip color doesn’t always need to be sheer lipstick or gloss – although those are the easiest to manage. You can do a bright lipstick but stick to a cream formula. This will keep your lips nourished and keep you from getting caking. The brighter color will draw attention to your face in a positive way.
  4. Skip the heavy contouring and highlighting. Try instead, a simple cheekbone contour and shimmer above or a daytime bronzer with a shimmer over the cheekbone. This will make you look dewy and more natural.

Tips: If possible do a trial run in the sunlight. Bring a mirror outside and see the difference in your makeup tones outside vs inside. If still wondering what “face” is best just consider the makeup you’d wear to a formal event – if that’s what you’re planning to wear to a football game then retain your plan.

If the elements prove to be too strong – cover up. Be sure to bring a hat. You lose body heat from your head so to it’s important to wear something on your head. Clothing layers are key!
